Pure Nepal combines Nepalese knowledge and experience with Dutch support. Shiva Sapkota and Ilse Sapkota-Bennink have been working together in their travel agency since 2008. They live next to their guesthouse in Kathmandu. Together, they have a daughter and a son.

Shiva Sapkota

Shiva Sapkota is the founder of Pure Nepal Trekking & Expedition. Born in the Dhading district of Nepal, he knows Nepal through his own life and experiences. For over 20 years, Shiva has been guiding and organizing trips and treks. Since 2008, he has been running his own travel agency with his Dutch wife, Ilse. “I want to offer my guests an authentic and unforgettable vacation!”

Making a difference in the service to visitors and making a difference for his country, Nepal, is Shiva Sapkota’s deep motivation. Many guests of Pure Nepal return for another trip, the greatest compliment for a travel agency!

Ilse Sapkota-Bennink

Ilse Sapkota-Bennink was born in the Netherlands. Since 2007, she has been living in Nepal. “Shiva’s Eastern background and my Western background complement each other and form an ideal combination! Through personal contacts and short lines of communication, we can make more possible—for both our guests and travelers, as well as for the people here in Nepal.”

Pure Nepal Guesthouse

From the first stone to the last roof tile, we helped build our house, where we also host Nepalese people for shorter or longer stays. We feel incredibly privileged to have been able to build our guesthouse and welcome guests!

We enjoy sharing a part of our life with our guests, and where better to do so than on the edge of Kathmandu, with the fresh air of the forests behind our house and the sounds of the mantras from the Buddhist monks at the nearby monastery.
